Out of the Blue

Hubcap is a fantastic rock band based up in my old stomping grounds, Ithaca, New York. Their latest album, 2004’s Between The Rails, is an absolute gem — besides covering a really wide range of musical textures from whisper to howl, the melodies just grab you and then settle right into your bones. They make for the kind of songs that sound totally new and yet somehow familiar at the same time. Oh, and a lot of them just flat-out rock.
