We’ll make our first-ever appearance at an Austin institution, Green Mesquite BBQ (the Barton Springs Road location), on Friday, June 15th, from 7-9:30pm.

This Saturday, March 3rd, will be a busy one:

In the morning, we’ll play a couple of sets at the downtown Austin Farmer’s Market, from 10am to 11:30am. The downtown market is at Republic Square Park, at Guadalupe St. between 4th and 5th streets.

Then, at around 6:30pm, we’ll play a short (~45min) set at a benefit for Green Gate Farms and the New Farm Institute — it’s their Shotgun Wedding Potluck, which sounds like it’s going to be a really fun event: big potluck dinner, tons of live music, and a shotgun wedding procession. The suggested donation is $15 but that’s likely to be well worth it given the beer and cider provided by Split Rail Ales.

The farm is located at 8310 Canoga Ave. Austin, TX 78724, on the east side of town. You can read more about the event here (we’re not listed on the page, presumably because we just confirmed this a couple of days ago).

We return to the Sustainable Food Centere’s Farmer’s Market at the Triangle (Triangle Park, 46th Street and Lamar Blvd.) on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. This time of year, the band sets run from 5:30–7pm.

We just set up a last-minute, super-casual gig from 8-10pm tomorrow (Wednesday, 7/13) at Waterloo Ice House on 38th & Medical Parkway.

moonlight float, July 16!

Saturday, July 16 is one of those fun moonlight float gigs we do every summer. It’s a fund-raiser to support a wonderful nonprofit organization, the Texas River School — there’s a potluck dinner on the dock, then the band plays on a barge as we float down the river to watch the bats take flight. Contact the Texas Rowing Center to reserve a kayak or canoe soon if you’re interested, or contact us if you have questions first.

UPDATE: the official details for this float have been confirmed: potluck begins at 6:30pm; push-off is at 7pm. Call the Texas Rowing Center at 512-467-7799 to make reservations; your contribution of $15 per adult and $10 per child secures a seat in a boat. Or, if you have your own floating device, use that and just put some money in the donations jar on the potluck table.

Just added another SFC Farmers’ Market show: this one’s at the Triangle, on Wednesday evening, Sept. 21, 2011. The live music goes from 6:30pm–8pm during the summer.

new show: Suddenlink Bluegrass Festival

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be one of the bands at this year’s Suddenlink Bluegrass Festival in Leander, TX, on Sept. 24, 2011. We’ll play the opening slot, from 12:30 pm–2:30 pm, but we encourage you to pack your shade umbrella and come out for the whole day. There’ll be bands playing until about 10pm.

The festival happens at Robin Bledsoe Park, 601 South Bagdad Rd. (map), in Leander.

new show: Tantra Coffehouse, San Marcos, June 9

Just booked: our first appearance in San Marcos, TX will be Thursday, June 9, at Tantra Coffeehouse, 217 W. Hopkins Street (map). We’ll play from about 9pm–11pm. There will be a small cover charge, probably just two or three bucks.
